United States, Bitcoin is entering as a superpower…“Institutions are massively entering, individuals are still watching”
An analysis has emerged that the United States is leading the institutionalization flow based on Bitcoin and is increasing its overwhelming influence in the digital asset sector. In particular, while the establishment of institutional infrastructure and large-scale entry of institutional investors are accelerating, individual investors' full-fledged participation is still said to be in its early stages.
Alex Sohn, Head of Research at Galaxy Digital, stated in an interview at the 'Bitcoin for Corporations Show' held on the 1st (local time) that the number of attendees at the Bitcoin Policy Summit held in Washington DC more than quintupled from the previous year, exceeding 1,000 people. He said, “The participation of politicians and large financial institutions was significant, and this indicates that the United States is passing the initial stages necessary for growing into a Bitcoin superpower.”
Sohn explained, “The inflow of institutional funds has noticeably increased after ETF approval,” and that “many hedge funds are already buying Bitcoin and entering the market either directly or through ETFs.” He added, “The number of cases where large publicly traded companies include Bitcoin as an asset is continuously increasing.”
It was also pointed out that since the emergence of ETFs, pension funds and passive funds have begun to flow in fully, showing a structural change in market price trends. He analyzed, “The extreme rises and falls based on past four-year cycles are gradually easing,” and that “entry into the institutional sphere is enhancing price stability.”
However, the analysis finds that the individual investor base is still quiet. Sohn pointed out, “Currently, general investors are mainly focusing on meme coins or short-term thematic assets, and search volume for Bitcoin is not high.” He emphasized, “The long-term strategic value of Bitcoin needs to be more widely recognized by the public.”
He concluded by reassuring that “The institutional incorporation of Bitcoin has already begun, and it is highly likely to establish itself as a major strategic asset for companies and institutions within the next few years.”
