Arizona Governor, Bitcoin Reserve Bill Rejected Again…State Government's Cryptocurrency Progress Hindered
Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs once again blocked a Bitcoin reserve-related bill passed by the state legislature. At the end of June, Governor Hobbs vetoed the 'HB 2324' bill, which would have allowed part of the seized criminal asset funds to be held in Bitcoin (BTC), according to Bitcoinro.
This bill included the introduction of a reserve system that would convert part of the state's seized criminal assets into BTC for reserves, but it was canceled due to the governor's veto. Hobbs also vetoed two cryptocurrency-related bills in May, indicating a setback in expanding cryptocurrency utilization within Arizona.
This measure is likely to reignite controversy over the direction of Arizona's cryptocurrency policy and is expected to lead to inevitable political clashes with cryptocurrency supporters.
